ADA - Access for Individuals with Disabilities
Access for Individuals with Disabilities
Court users, including jurors, parties in a case, witnesses, attorneys, and others, can receive reasonable accommodations from the court if necessary to fully participate in court programs or services.
For more information, please visit Accessibility | Judicial Branch of California.
How to Make a Request for an Accommodation
The Court encourages using the California Judicial Council's Disability Accommodation Request (MC-410) form to submit accommodation requests. Please make your request as far in advance as you can, but at least five (5) court days before your appearance or appointment. The Court may, in its discretion, waive this requirement. Instructions to fill the form are available on Judicial Council form How to Request a Disability Accommodation for Court (MC-410-INFO). Requests for accommodation are processed in accordance with California Rules of Court, rule 1.100.
You may either submit the form MC-410 in person at the public counter at the clerk's office or mail it to the following location:
Attn: ADA Coordinator
1 Court Street
Oroville, CA, 95965
Based on the type of request you submit, either the ADA Coordinator or a judicial officer will review it. A written response will be mailed to you once a decision is made. The ADA Coordinator may assist in communicating or implementing accommodations and will carry out any directions made by a judicial officer. However, the ADA Coordinator cannot override or alter judicial decisions.
How to Request a Review
If you disagree with a decision, please refer to California Rule of Court, rule 1.100(g) for review procedures.
Complaints
Complaints alleging discrimination on the basis of disability can be filed through the Court's Americans with Disabilities Act Grievance Procedure, which is established in accordance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA).
