Appellate Division
The Appellate Division, located at the North Butte County Courthouse facility (1775 Concord Avenue, Chico) reviews trial court decisions in Misdemeanor, Infraction, and Limited Civil (excluding Small Claims) matters.
Appeals for Felony, Unlimited Civil, Probate/Mental Health, Juvenile and Family Law cases are handled by the Court of Appeal, Third Appellate District, located in Sacramento, California. For more information, visit their website.
Please note: The filing of an appeal does NOT postpone the payment of your fine or any other condition of the sentence. If the fine is not paid by the date specified or any condition ordered by the court is not met, a warrant may be issued for your arrest of a civil collections process may be instituted against you. (Pen Code , § 1467.)

Oral Arguments
Oral arguments are heard by the Butte County Superior Court’s Appellate Division on the last Friday of every month at 3:30 PM at the North Butte County Courthouse facility in Chico.
